A unique application for monitoring charging systems

Car manufacturers realized that in order to sell electric vehicles, they would need to provide charging options for both home and on the go, along with the vehicle.
To bring order and enable charger manufacturers to communicate with vehicles, a global corporation of opinion leaders in the electric vehicle field was established,
OCA (Open Charge Alliance), to promote standards in the field.
A uniform application communication protocol, OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol), was decided upon for electric vehicle charging stations
and a central management system that Advice supports.
Complete solution from one source (One Stop Shop), integrated sales including:
  • Charging station
  • Software
  • Option for payment device
  • Invoice generation
  • Support and service from Advice

Option for electricity sales (passive income source):
  • Can be used by any charging station owner, private or business (Zimmers/guest houses)
  • Allows adding payment methods, clearing, and issuing green invoices
  • Option to manage usage costs (consumption, parking, service)
  • Option to add an external payment device
Efficient management of electrical energy (Load Balance):
Allows maximum utilization of the existing current for the customer (installation of multiple charging stations from a single power source).
Detailed charging history:
  • Can be used by homeowners' associations to calculate consumption and charge residents (including time-of-use tariffs)
  • Can be used by business owners to monitor employee charging expenses (at work and at home)
Automatic charging option by VIN identification (DC charging stations only):
Can be used by taxi stands/vehicle fleets to identify their vehicles in addition to income from casual customers.
Option to limit charging (e.g., to 80%).
  • Receive phone notifications (charging complete/communication interrupted)
  • Hebrew-supported application
  • Central management system
Charging activation options
• Plug&Play (automatic activation) – Advantage: simple, Disadvantage: open to any vehicle
• RFID (tags) – Advantage: control over users, Disadvantage: requires a tag for each provider
• Application – Requires only a mobile phone and has many advantages. Disadvantage: requires cellular communication
Application and its uses
• Activate/stop charging from anywhere – whether at home or on the road (by registering with a charging provider)
• Monitor electricity consumption (time, current, power, estimated cost)
• Limit maximum charging (to a percentage of the battery) – not healthy to charge to 100%. Freeing up the charger for other users
• Limit charging current for a group of chargers – e.g., a parking lot
• View charging history – can be used by shared homes, employers, public providers for financial reconciliation
• Set charging profiles – two main reasons: lower load at night, time-of-use tariff price
• Grant sharing permissions – to family members, employees, or customers
• Alerts – charging complete, charger disconnected or faulty
Load management system
• Allows simultaneous charging of multiple vehicles
• Maintains stability and safety of electricity supply
• Regulates load distribution in a limited energy resource
Central management system
• Allows viewing and operating the charger network, checking connectivity and connector status
